Our next open public meeting is Tuesday 10th December:

6pm for 6:30 to 8pm

Titled 'Town v Gown: is the student boom good for the City Centre?'

Guest speaker will be Kevin Burrows Lecturer at University of Sheffield, co-author of a report for Plymouth City Council in response to the Council’s concerns about the impacts of the growing number of purpose-built student accommodation blocks (PBSA) in Plymouth. It goes into the impact on Houses of Multiple Occupancy, what happens when student numbers fall and the future use of buildings designed for student only occupation. In addition to concerns over extreme studentification in Plymouth other locations experiencing concerns include Chester, Bristol and Durham.

Venue - SRSB, 5 Mappin Street S1 4DT

This is an opportunity to raise matters concerning management of the city centre, cleanliness, rough sleeping, facilities and anything you feel needs improving
